4th. lamentation -Lectio prima-, 1st. of Good Friday.
COgitauit Dominus dissipare
murum filiae Syon
tetendit funiculum suum,
et non auertit manum suam a perditione
et murus pariter dissipatus est.
COnuertere ad Dominum Deum tuum.
The Lord has thought to destroy
the wall of the daughter of Zion:
he has stretched out his line
and has not turned his hand from destruction.
He has mourned before the ramparts,
and the wall he has likewise demolished.
return to the Lord thy God.
