Translation

My people, what have I done to you,

and how have you grieved you?

Answer me.

Because I led you from the land of Egypt,

you have prepared a Cross for your Saviour.

O holy God.

Holy God.

God holy and strong.

God holy and strong.

God holy and immortal, gave pity on us.

God holy and immortal, gave pity on us.

Because I have led you across the desert

for forty years,

and nourished you with manna,

and you have entered into a promised land,

you have prepared a Cross for your Saviour.

O holy God...

I have scourged Egypt

with its first-born for love of you,

and you have delivered me to be scourged.

My people...

I have brought you out of Egypt,

and drowned Pharoah in the Red Sea,

and you have delivered me to the high priests.

My people...

I have parted the sea before you,

and you have pierced my side with a spear.

My people...

I have come before you in a column of cloud,

and you have taken me into the judgement hall of Pilate.

My people....
